If I had one year to live…

Standard
One Year to Live
Mary Davis ReedWhat If You Had Only One Year To Live?
If I had but one year to live;
One year to help; one year to give;
One year to love; one year to bless;
One year of better things to stress;
One year to sing; one year to smile;
To brighten earth a little while;
I think that I would spend each day,
In just the very self-same way
That I do now. For from afar
The call may come to cross the bar
At any time, and I must be
Prepared to meet eternity.
So if I have a year to live,
Or just a day in which to give
A pleasant smile, a helping hand,
A mind that tries to understand
A fellow-creature when in need,
β€˜Tis one with me, β€”I take no heed;
But try to live each day He sends
To serve my gracious Master’s ends.

Happy Easter!

Standard

“Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sins curse has lost its grip on me

For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ”
Happy Easter y’all! Christ has risen. πŸ™‚

A question to ask yourself

Standard

Ask yourself this: Am I being the type of  person that I would want to meet?

First, make a list of the characteristics of the type of person you would want to meet (exa.: nice, friendly, thoughtful, funny, reliable, etc.).
Then make a list of the characteristics of the type of person you would NOT want to meet.
Look over the list and think over it for a bit.

β™₯
Start striving to be like the type of person you would want to meet. πŸ™‚

A poem by Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Standard

Solitude
-Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone.
For the sad old earth must borrow it’s mirth,
But has trouble enough of its own.
Sing, and the hills will answer;
Sigh, it is lost on the air.
The echoes bound to a joyful sound,
But shrink from voicing care.

Rejoice, and men will seek you;
Grieve, and they turn and go.
They want full measure of all your pleasure,
But they do not need your woe.
Be glad, and your friends are many;
Be sad, and you lose them all.
There are none to decline your nectared wine,
But alone you must drink life’s gall.

Feast, and your halls are crowded;
Fast, and the world goes by.
Succeed and give, and it helps you live,
But no man can help you die.
There is room in the halls of pleasure
For a long and lordly train,
But one by one we must all file on
Through the narrow aisles of pain.

This is a GREAT poem! Speaks the truth concisely. I love it. πŸ™‚

Snow in Spring break… there MUST be a God (pictures)

Standard
Yesterday I had a orthodontist’s appointment (to get my braces tightened), so my mom and I had to go out in the snow and go meet my brother somewhere in Budapest. It was cold, but beautiful!
Because we had time to take pictures, we decided randomly to take pictures of each other for no reason. I don’t think you have to have a reason to take pictures anyway.
Here is a pic of my awesome mom πŸ™‚
This was taken in a park near a McDonald somewhere in Budapest.
If it was autumn, I would caption this as “2 Roads Diverged in Yellow Wood” (the other road was hidden in this pic).

I love it when there is snow on trees!

 I like the trees in the background of this picture!
I love snow… before it melts.

                                        Snow snow SNOW!!!!

This is my favorite picture out of all the pictures we took.

I love snow, love life, and love JESUS!

The wind is blowin’, snow is falling… there MUST be a God!

And she fell in love with the snow, then with life, and then with God.

Just stand there and be you! There is no one you-er than you, be proud of that fact. πŸ™‚

This is my 2nd favorite picture, just sayin’. I just saw a bush with snow on it, told my mom to stand behind it, and then… took a gorgeous picture of her! This proves that you can find beauty in everything, even in an old bush.
